An egg donor is when a woman gives her eggs to another woman for the purpose of getting pregnant. Most people have heard of sperm donation. But what is egg donation, and is it just as easy? The short answer is no! It is much harder to extract eggs than sperm. It is a similar process to that of a woman who would use her own eggs, however after the donor’s eggs are extracted and embryos are created with sperm, they are then implanted into the intended parent or surrogate.
